WORKPLACE SAFETY OFFICER (SO3)
Job Overview
We are looking for a Workplace Safety Officer (SO3) who will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace through effective safety programs, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigation, and employee safety awareness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor workplace safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Support the Occupational Health & Safety Committee in the preparation of minutes, reports, recommendations, and action plans.
- Coordinate mandatory and company-required safety training programs.
- Ensure workplace compliance with DOLE regulations, RA 11058, DOLE Department Order No. 198-18, and other applicable standards.
- Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and identify hazards and unsafe practices.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses and document findings and recommendations.
- Monitor corrective actions and ensure identified safety concerns are properly addressed.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and training documentation.
- Assist in emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, disaster response, and other workplace safety initiatives.
- Coordinate with building administration, property management, contractors, and service providers on safety-related concerns.
- Assist in regulatory inspections and safety audits.
- Provide safety guidance and recommendations to employees, supervisors, and management.
- Prepare regular safety reports and updates for management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer 3 (SO3) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5–6 years of relevant workplace safety experience.
- Corporate, office, commercial, or multinational experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Philippine OSH laws, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with RA 11058 and DOLE Department Order No. 198-18.
- Experience in workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigation, and safety training.
- Knowledge of building, fire, electrical, and mechanical safety is an advantage.
- Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
