Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll accurately and within established timelines.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, deductions, and leave balances.
- Ensure payroll activities comply with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Calculate and process payroll-related taxes, government contributions, and other mandatory deductions.
- Reconcile payroll data and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare payroll reports and supporting documentation for management, Finance, and audit requirements.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of employee and payroll data.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll records and required documentation.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and data integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of end-to-end payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume or complex environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, compensation and benefits administration, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience processing Australian payroll, including PAYG, Superannuation, STP, GST, and BAS.
- Strong knowledge of Fair Work regulations, Enterprise Agreements, Australian taxation, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll and HRIS platforms, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong payroll reconciliation, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
