JOB DESCRIPTION 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• The Cost Accountant is responsible for preparing and supporting the end-to-end inventory, cost accounting, and financial reporting processes.
• Strong knowledge of the manufacturing process from raw material to finished goods and cost of sales.
• Participate in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations associated with inventory and cost of goods sold according to the U.S. GAAP
• Root cause analysis for material, labor, and OH variances.
• Review manufacturing overhead analysis and calculation for inventory
• Analyze absorption and overhead.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Review scrap transactions and research for reasons and reconcile activity.
• Meet with various departments to obtain information necessary to create an accurate monthly forecast.
• Prepare various cost accounting reports for presentation to upper management.
• Help develop and maintain cost accounting models, documents, and organization records
• Assist in audits, including quarterly and year-end audits.
• Update accounting procedures for assigned areas.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's policies, internal controls, and procedures.
