Senior Cost/Inventory Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities Include:
- The Cost Accountant is responsible for preparing and supporting the end-to-end inventory, cost accounting, and financial reporting processes.
- Strong knowledge of the manufacturing process from raw material to finished goods and cost of sales.
- Participate in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations associated with inventory and cost of goods sold according to the U.S. GAAP
- Root cause analysis for material, labor, and OH variances.
- Review manufacturing overhead analysis and calculation for inventory
- Analyze absorption and overhead.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Review scrap transactions and research for reasons and reconcile activity.
- Meet with various departments to obtain information necessary to create an accurate monthly forecast.
- Prepare various cost accounting reports for presentation to upper management.
- Help develop and maintain cost accounting models, documents, and organization records
- Assist in audits, including quarterly and year-end audits.
- Update accounting procedures for assigned areas.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's policies, internal controls, and procedures.
