CORPORATE SAFETY SPECIALIST (SO3)

JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Corporate Safety Specialist (SO3) who will be responsible for supporting and implementing the organization's Occupational Health and Safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, identifying workplace hazards, and promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
The role will work closely with employees, management, facilities teams, contractors, property management, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of workplace safety standards and programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Occupational Health & Safety
- Implement and monitor Occupational Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures across corporate offices and assigned facilities.
- Serve as a key member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee and support the preparation of meeting minutes, recommendations, action plans, and required reports.
- Coordinate and facilitate occupational health and safety training programs for employees and management, including mandatory OSH training requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable DOLE regulations, RA 11058, DOLE Department Order No. 198-18, and other relevant occupational safety and health standards.
- Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and areas for improvement.
- Recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions to address identified safety risks.
- Participate in the investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare appropriate reports and recommendations.
- Maintain and monitor workplace accident and incident records and ensure proper follow-through on corrective actions.
- Assist in coordinating emergency preparedness programs, drills, and response procedures.
- Support government inspections, safety audits, accident investigations, and other regulatory activities.
Workplace Risk & Safety Management
- Conduct workplace hazard identification and risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Review workplace practices, facilities, and operations to ensure compliance with established safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance to employees and management on occupational health and safety concerns.
- Monitor compliance with internal safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assist in reviewing safety requirements for office renovations, fit-outs, construction activities, and other workplace projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, service providers, building administrators, landlords, and property management teams regarding safety requirements.
Safety Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and updated safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, training records, and other required documentation.
- Prepare periodic safety reports, recommendations, and updates for management.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Promote awareness and strengthen the organization's overall safety culture.
- Provide support during safety-related emergencies and other workplace incidents.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- DOLE-accredited Safety Officer 3 (SO3) or equivalent qualification is required.
- At least 5–6 years of relevant experience in Occupational Health & Safety, EHS, HSE, or a related field.
- Experience handling safety programs in a corporate or multinational organization is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine Occupational Safety and Health standards and regulations.
- Working knowledge of RA 11058 and DOLE Department Order No. 198-18.
- Proven experience in workplace safety inspections, hazard identification, risk assessment, accident/incident investigation, and safety training.
- Knowledge of building, electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and applicable engineering or construction standards is an advantage.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, property management, facilities teams, and external service providers is preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
