OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY SPECIALIST (SO3)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Safety Specialist (SO3) to oversee and implement occupational health and safety programs within a corporate environment. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable OSH regulations, conducting workplace inspections and risk assessments, investigating incidents, and promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor Occupational Health & Safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the Occupational Health & Safety Committee and maintain required documentation, meeting minutes, recommendations, and reports.
  • Coordinate and facilitate OSH training programs for employees and management.
  • Ensure compliance with RA 11058, DOLE Department Order No. 198-18, and other applicable OSH regulations.
  • Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Participate in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare investigation reports.
  • Monitor corrective and preventive actions resulting from inspections and incident investigations.
  • Maintain accurate accident, incident, inspection, and safety training records.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, safety drills, and related programs.
  • Assist during government inspections, safety audits, and other regulatory activities.
  • Coordinate with Facilities, Property Management, contractors, and service providers regarding workplace safety requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to employees and management on occupational health and safety matters.
  • Prepare periodic safety reports and recommendations for management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • DOLE-accredited Safety Officer 3 (SO3) or equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least 5–6 years of relevant experience in Occupational Health & Safety, EHS, HSE, or a related field.
  • Experience in a corporate or multinational environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine OSH standards and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of RA 11058 and DOLE Department Order No. 198-18.
  • Experience in safety inspection, risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety training.
  • Knowledge of building, electrical, mechanical, and fire safety standards is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
